CRA will accept digitally signed documents, and they have criteria that we must adhere to in order to comply with their requirements.
In order to do that, we have obtained within our Client Track Software supplier, a portal, that we can provide to you for file sharing, and digital document signing. One person, with an email address, is permitted to sign only documents addressed to that email. Any other person in the household would be required to have their own portal, with their own email address in order for a document to be digitally signed by that person.
Actually it's not a lot different when you were in our office to sign documents. The necessary forms would be presented to each person, whose signature was required, and that person was permitted to sign on the proper area of documents that were necessary for our compliance.
