Since Covid-19 has caused a number of changes, we, like everyone, have been affected.
- We have decided to defer "in office" appointments, in favor of return telephone call appointments. Most of the information to be discussed can be accomplished in that manner.
- We can share our computer screen if you would like to discuss certain details pertaining to a tax return that we have prepared, providing you have a computer access.
- When you have a computer access, we can provide a "portal" that enables us to upload your completed tax return, and signing documents (using DocuSign), and we can receive documents in the same manner from you. We don't require all documents since CRA is provided with most of your income information, and we can retrieve it from them, with your written permission. This is done with an Authorization form, that we keep on file.
- When you don't have a computer access, we can receive your documents if you either mail them to us, or drop them off in our new office mail slot M-F 9:30 - 1:00 pm. The slot is 4" x 12".
- We can prepare your tax return, and have it available to you for pick up from a table set up weekly outside our office door, at a scheduled "pick up" time. We prefer the documents be scheduled to be picked up to enable us to retrieve your documents, and have them available. The building would require that you wear a mask, and we will have hand sanitizers available on our pick up desk.
- Any source documents received from you will be kept in our office, for you to pick up later by scheduled appointment. We can mail to you a tax summary, and a consent form if you are unable to physically come to our "pick up" table, where all of your documents will be made available.
- Appointments for picking up documents, or having a phone call return can be done by calling our business number 519-649-2001 and leaving a message that you would like to schedule either a pick up time, or a return call, and suggest a time for either. You can also schedule your own appointment by accessing our appointment link here: Appointment Link
We can let you know if we don't require documents for information you have on file, especially if there are a fair number of them. Medical expenses can only be claimed if they exceed a percentage of your net income, so it is best for prescriptions, that you make arrangement for a statement annually from your pharmacy. Then the totals for that have been already tabulated, and that statement should suffice to support your claim. All we really need is the total.
